3 The 1920s The 1920s was an era that made a great statement. With new technology, prosperity, change for women and African Americans, but also, great defeat. The Roaring ’20s was and age to never be forgotten.

9 Nineteenth Amendment Prohibits any U.S. citizen from being denied the right to vote on the basis of sex. Culmination of the women’s suffrage movement in the U.S. Ratified August 18, 1920.

10 Flappers New breed of western women in the ’20s Wore short skirts, bobbed hair, listened to jazz, and flaunted their dislike for “acceptable” behavior. Seen as brash for wearing too much makeup, drinking, casual sex, smoking, driving, and flouting social and sexual norms.
