3  Built in1922  The LAST wooden-hulled, steam-powered working tugboat in North America

4  OBJECTIVE:  To preserve an important symbol of BC’s maritime heritage  To pay tribute to the vital contribution of, and to celebrate the founders of the BC Coastal Towing industry

5  Objectives: Master  To properly repair/refit the Master in order to celebrate her Centennial in 2022 Master  To ensure that the Master will endure for at least another generation

6  Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada will provide a bronze plaque commemorating this history and referencing in particular the SS Master. “Tugboating along the West Coast ” has been designated (late 2014)as an Event of National Historic Significance

7  Our goal is to raise $1 Million to restore and preserve the vessel  The committed support of the towing industry is critical to the success of this project  Strong industry backing will leverage support from municipal and provincial entities, and the general public

9  We need all CMC member companies to support the major repair work  We need the support of your employees too!

10  Fundraising has been slow off the mark…but  Seaspan Shipyards – contributed 2014 drydocking $132,500  Centennial Project pledges from CMC members to date total $132,500  Island Tug & Barge  Ledcor Marine  Saam-Smit  Robert Allan Ltd

11  Suggested levels based on a pro-rata levy “per tug”  The need is great!  Your most generous support will be greatly appreciated

12  The donations and expenditures made under this project will be reviewed by Mr. Allen Fowlis (former President of Seaspan)

13  The future of the S.S. Master depends on the commitment and participation of everyone connected to the BC Towing Industry www.Master.org Ph. 604 352-4174
