The League of Patriots Uganda: Our home, Our pride. I think there is one higher office than president and I would call that patriot. ~Gary Hart Our Vision: To promote a conscious, proud, and patriotic citizenry. Our Mission: The strategic placement of Uganda within the dynamics of the international political economy.

Back ground: The League of Ugandan patriots was born out of a series of informal debates and discussions between ordinary youth regarding the path Uganda is taking. Notable among whom is Steven Asiimwe, Opio Herbert, Joe Biribonwa, James Muhairwe, Steven Muhwezi and Philip Matogo.. It then occurred to me during one of the discussions touching on the subject of International political economy, that there was need for an advocacy forum and think tank through which nationalists and patriots can air their views on matters of policy and thereby give guidance to the nation on positions of national significance. That with a concerted voice, they may provide those in leadership with a guiding philosophy or ideology upon which to frame their policies. The League of Patriots

Back ground: While chatting with Timothy Tibesigwa and later Frank Rusa, both members of ‘The corner House Fraternity’, a group of young professionals with a passion for transforming this nation, I decided to attend some of their meetings and was overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and commitment of the members. It dawned on me that not a day longer should be wasted before creating a platform for such patriots to contribute ideas for the betterment of their country. The league therefore, is an affirmation that there exists illustrious Ugandans willing to selflessly put their energies to the advancement of our people as a whole. After all, the end of policy and all government activity should transform into nothing but welfare. The League of Patriots

1.Promote patriotism & Restore National Pride. 2.That the end of policy & government activity should always translate into welfare for the people. 3.Empowering Uganda & Ugandans Economically. 4.Enforcement of labor & migration laws to empower Ugandan professionals. 5.Reduce the level of capital repatriated from the country. 6.Place Uganda strategically within the dynamics of global political economy. 7.That government ministries be enabled to generate revenue and thereby become less reliant on taxation as the dominant source of funds. Effectively relaxing the tax burden on citizens. The League of Patriots Advocacy Positions:

8. Community service be tailored to save government expenditure and rewarded in form of say, scholarships or health care support from the state. 9. Local councils need not spend so much when they can give obligations as a prerequisite for the contracts they award. e.g. street lights and advertising, road construction and rental for the same during construction and retention to be charged on restoration. The League of Patriots Advocacy Positions:

While Uganda is rich in natural resources, it is still heavily dependant on foreign aid and the majority of its people live in circumstances that are characterized by poverty and disease. The country spends a lot of resources on education, the very best of the human resource it cannot afford to employ. The most skilled professionals were giving there brains to organizations that take (repatriate) so much in profit from Uganda. Hence the need to provide a platform that can be used by these professionals to contribute to the nation by way of ideas based on their fields of expertise. The League of Ugandan Patriots believes that there are Ugandans out there capable of transforming this country into the lovely home we can be proud of. If you are reading this, ask yourself if you are that patriot - Your homeland needs you. The League of Patriots Notes:

NOEL NTAMBI, Founder & President. The League of Patriots You are welcome to join and attend the launch of this patriotic cause. Details to be communicated later.
