6. Copernicus in situ component The Copernicus in situ component shall provide access to in situ data, serving primarily the Copernicus services.

The Copernicus in situ component is implemented in two tiers: A.Copernicus services are responsible for day to day operational management and ingestion of service specific reference and in situ data; B.Cross-service coordination makes reference and in situ data of general relevance accessible through appropriate agreements data providers/networks at programme level and maintains an overview vis-à- vis requirements, gaps and solutions.
