2 2 Vocabulary ePortfolio  Software that holds digital content  Used to show student’s work  Prove student meets expectations, GSE’s, standards Entries  Student assignments, etc. Artifact  student’s work/assignments, documents to be uploaded Reflection  student’s comments regarding the assignment Tour  a group of assignments/work that a student selects to show a designated person/group Senior year—graduation panel of judges Family members Screen  Throughout this document refers to the window that appears after selecting a menu item along top of ePortfolio

3 3 Login Click ePortfolio—Richer Picture on Warwick School’s Home Page www.warwickschools.org www.warwickschools.org Enter username name Enter password Click, “click here to login”

4 4 Home Screen (About Me) Left Side of screen (menu shown in blue margin will be referred to as (blue) throughout this document My Profile (blue)  Change picture—personalize with own picture on the main panel of the home screen Picture should be appropriate for the portfolio of student’s work Click “browse” and find picture saved on computer Click “enter information” to set desired choice Click “checkbox” to remove a previous picture

5 5 Home Screen Cont’d  Change password Keep private Enter in two locations to change, up to15 characters Click “enter information” to set desired choice Personalize (blue)  Banner (stripe around the students name at top of Portfolio screen) Change color, use preset pictures, etc. Click “change”, click “numbers or next” to view choices Click “select” when determine desired choice

6 6 View Screen Learner Outcomes, GSE’s rather than subject names (blue)  Good to see how student is fulfilling expectations and work to prove it  Click Learner Outcome name (blue) to show: Learner Outcome/expectation description assignments that fulfill the Learner Outcome or GSE’s, etc. the grade in which it was completed. the teacher’s overall evaluation in small square Click the assignment name to show:  Learner Outcome/expectations description again  Summary of assignment  Date  Artifact link to open the actual student work  reflection

7 7 View Screen Continued Also along the left of the student work  Can access the same information Summary Artifact Reflection  And view the teacher’s actual evaluation Teacher evaluation (blue)  Item by item (each benchmark) View Teacher Evaluation (blue)  Overall evaluation

8 8 View Screen Continued Contents (blue)  Lists entries Click “arrow” to select grade to view Lists all entries for selected grade Indicates if completed, evaluated and/or locked Click “assignment name” same as previously described  To view overview of assignment  Artifacts  Summary  Reflection  (Also in blue margin)

9 9 Edit Screen My goals (blue)  Add a goal set (none at this time) My entries (blue)  Shows entries student has made By grade, click “arrow” to select grade Click “go” to select  Used to upload self-selected entries Directions in Pilgrim e-Porfolio in First Class

10 10 Edit Screen Continued My tours (blue)  Create tours Click “add tours” name it add entries Click “update tour info” when done  Edit tours through edit content

13 13 Adding Entries Steps Click “Assignments” on Menu on top of ePortfolio screen  Click “add” button next to assignment name  Click into reflection box Copy and paste reflection information into box Or key directly into the reflection box Do not link file in box  Add artifacts Click into caption box and give the artifact a specific name Click “arrow” to select type of document. Word, Excel, etc. Click “browse” find file to upload Click one of the two save options at bottom of screen Go back to Assignment Screen ContinuedAssignment Screen Continued

17 17 District Reflection Prompt For any portfolio assignment to be valid, you must write a reflection for each assignment. A reflection is a minimum of three paragraphs that includes the following: Paragraph 1: What course was this assignment for? What is the name of the assignment? What type of assignment/artifact did you produce (Project, On- Demand Task, Essay, Lab, Research Paper, Lab Report, etc.)? What were the assignment instructions? What steps did you take to complete this assignment? What academic skills did this assignment require you to demonstrate? Paragraph 2: Was your work on this assignment deemed proficient? What Content Standard and/or Grade Span Expectations along with Academic Expectations for Learning does this assignment meet? How does your completed work meet these expectations? What were your strengths in completing this assignment? What were your challenges? How will you overcome these types of challenges in the future? Paragraph 3: How could you use the skills attained in this assignment in either your academic, career, and/or personal/social future?
