1 MEANING OF PERCENT A ratio of a number to 100 is called a percent. Percent means per hundred, and is represented by the symbol %. Any ratio with 100 as the second number can be expressed in three ways. You can write the ratios as a fraction, a decimal, and a percent. 0.25 25%

There are two ways to find the percent of a number. The decimal method, and the proportion method. Example: Find 30% of 80 Decimal Method
