4. C HOOSING YOUR CLASSES …. Today you will receive your registration card and description of Electives for 8 th grade. Registration cards are due back to your Language Arts teacher by WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 2015. You registration needs to be completed even if you think you are not attending HJHS next year!

10. C HOOSING YOUR CLASSES Teacher approval is needed for honors classes – need initials. You can only enroll in Honors 8 classes if you are currently an honors student OR if you pass the honors test. Honors testing will be held Monday, July 27 th at 8:30am in the library. 11. H ONORS S OCIAL S TUDIES Honors Social Studies is an 8 th grade class only. To qualify for Honor Social Studies students must qualify and be enrolled in Honors English. Your Honors Language Arts teacher will be the one to sign off on Honors Social Studies (not your Social Studies teacher!)

13. E LECTIVES Choose the equivalent of 5 year long class periods. It can be a combination of “full year” OR “semester” electives. Choose “back-ups”. Students are not guaranteed elective choices; however most students receive their 1 st, 2 nd or 3 rd elective choices. Classes will be full in the fall, especially electives, turning in your card now for best chance of getting what your student wants.
