2. What you will learn: We will explore the gap between people who can access the internet, and the people who can’t access the internet. This includes the technology that are used, the imbalance both in physical access to technology and the resources needed to effectively participate. In addition, there will be a discussion on how people with disabilities access the internet. We will also be focusing on some case studies, revealing how some Governments have helped boost the growth of electronic access and bridged the digital divide in their countries.

Learning outcomes: * By the end of this module, you should be able to: -Explain the meaning of cyber access. -- Describe two government initiatives that have helped boost cyber access. -- Name three places where people can access the internet. -Identify two ways that people with disabilities can access the internet. -List three examples of ethical usage technology.

4. CYPER ACCESS’S DEFINITION: Cyber access is about understanding the privilege of using electronic information as well as the right to having equal, secure and reliable access.

5. Understanding the digital divide: Digital access index (DAI), a term coined by the international telecommunication union (ITU) helps to measure the overall ability of people in a particular country to get access and use information and communication technologies. What is it about Digital divide refers to the difference between nations in the ability of accessing global information infrastructures, the difference between those who have access to computers and the internet, and those who do not.
