3 1. What is coaching? Coaching is a Carriage (medium of transport) « Transport people from where they are to where they want to be » A process in which an individual gets support while learning to achieve a specific personal or professional result or goal Leading to a higher level of performance: The winning of a game (in sports) The achievement of a life - or a business goal

4 2. Role of the coach? Socratic method consisting of asking questions offering opportunities, suggestions and resources challenges the coachee to find answers from within himself/herself The coach guides the participants to achieve their set goals under a specific time is the mirror through which the participant sees the knowledge he/she holds

5 3. What is expected from the participant? Active participation (time, commitment, input) Ownership in creating solutions Sharing with other members of the coaching track Reporting on impact (successes and lessons learned) Remember: The coach will NOT Run the race Set foot on the playing field, Put in place a gender sensitive value chain development program. That is the responsibility of the coachee!

Time schedule 1st coaching meeting with coach after kick off workshop Refine the Gender Action Plan and the coaching objectives Set a « calendar » for the 3 days of coaching (frequency of meetings and medium of communication: face to face, on-line, etc.) Knowledge sharing events/ field visits (dates to be determined….) Coaching period June 2013 until March 2014 Writing case descriptions with impact achieved and lessons learned Closing workshop April 2014 for sharing of experiences
