2. OH GOD, WE NEED
YOU TO COME
IN POWER!

3. Isaiah 64:1-4 “Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains would tremble before you! As when fire sets twigs

4. ablaze and causes water to boil, come down to make your name known to your enemies and cause the nations to quake before you!

5. For when you did awesome things that we did not expect, you came down, and the mountains trembled before you. Since ancient times no one has heard,

6. no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him.”

7. Isaiah was saying, “Lord, do it again!”

8. A mountain is something that no human can do anything about.

9. He also used the example of fire, which represents judgment.
Fire represents refining.
Fire represents the Holy Spirit.

10. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.

11. II. GOD MEETS WITH HIS FAITHFUL PEOPLE.

12. Isaiah 24:5a-“You come to the help of those who gladly do right, who remember your ways.”

13. -God comes and meets with the obedient.
-God comes and meets with those who rejoice in their obedience.
-God comes and meets with those who submit to His ways in THEIR life.

14. III. GOD JUDGES HIS PEOPLE’S CONTINUED DISOBEDIENCE

15. Isaiah 64:5b-7-“But when we continued to sin against them, you were angry. How then can we be saved? All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our

16. righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away. No one calls on your name or strives to lay hold of you;

17. you have hidden your face from us and made us waste away because of our sins.”

18. Do you see America in these words?
-Unclean
-Uncommitted
-Prayerless
-No passion for God.

19. When the Lord hides His face. . .
-Worship becomes dry, mechanical and fruitless.
-The joy of salvation dries up.
-The glory of God is not manifest.

20. -Christians and churches stop producing the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
-Christians and church quit reproducing themselves.
