4 Surface and Atmosphere  The surface of Eris is methane ice.  Eris has a unique atmosphere that collapses to an icy glaze when it gets cold enough.

5 Temperature and Diameter  The average temperature of Eris is - 407 degrees.  The diameter of Eris is 2,500 km.

6 Moons and Distance from the sun  Eris has only one moon, Dysnomia.  Dysnomia is the mythological daughter of Eris.  Dysnomia has an icy surface.  Dysnomia was discovered in 2005.  Eris’s distance from the sun is 10.2 x 10 to the 9th power.

7 Miles from the Earth and Rotation time  It takes 25.9 Earth hours to rotate once.  Eris is 15 billion kilometers away from Earth.

8 Revolving time and how did Eris get its name  It takes 557 Earth years to revolve around the sun.  Eris got its name from the Greek goddess of discord and strife.
