4 All student graduating from public high schools in South Carolina should have the knowledge, skills, and opportunity to be college ready, career ready, and life ready for success in the global, digital and knowledge-based world of the 21 st century. All graduates should qualify for and succeed in entry-level, credit-bearing college courses without the need for remedial coursework, for postsecondary job training or for significant on-the-job training.

5 Between 2013 and 2030 in SC: 553,884 new jobs to be created of which 52% will require higher education % of ALL jobs requiring higher education will increase from 61.5% in 2013 to 66.7% in 2030

6 By 2030 in SC, there will be shortages of 44,010 workers with associate’s degrees and 70,540 workers with bachelor’s degrees or higher 17,438 registered nurses 9,134 General & Operations Managers Occupational Groups: Healthcare Practitioners, Management, Education, Business and Financial Operations, and Computers and Mathematics
