6 Bruises KEEP IN MIND 1. Blend, but don’t overblend 2. Make impact areas darker 3. Cause will determine shape NEW BRUISES 1. Apply red = soreness effect 2. Add darker red and purple 3. Blue adds depth OLD BRUISES 1. Apply yellow first, then green and brown

7 Black Eye Bruises 1. 1. Highlight around eye 1. 1. Makes eye look smaller and swollen 2. 2. Using brush, draw red cream line under eye 1. 1. Blend to soften 3. 3. Stipple brownish-red color 1. 1. Under outer corner 2. 2. Eyelide 3. 3. Brow bone/temple 4. 4. Or on other impact area 4. 4. Add other color for newer/older bruise 5. 5. Add tiredness shadow

8 Simple Cuts 1. Clean surface and powder Or else color will smear 2. Smear red for pale pink soreness Use very little 3. Stipple line to desired/appropriate position 4. Use same color and end of brush/spatula and dab color down center of pale red Keep it thick to add texture

10 Complex Cuts 1. 1. Clean surface and powder 2. 2. Brush on spirit gum as glue 3. 3. Apply wax with finger tip and lip spatula 4. 4. Blend with foundation 5. 5. Use cream color to add drama and dimensions 6. 6. Stipple 7. 7. Translucent powder to set color and texture 8. 8. Stage blood
