2 My Birthday My Birthday is on April 23 rd. These following events happened on my birthday.

3 In 1956 The U.S. Supreme Court Ends Race Segregation on Buses The Montgomery Bus Boycott was a part of the U.S Civil Rights Movement. The movement ended after the ruling of the Browder v. 4 In 1962 the 1 st U.S. Satellite to Reach the Moon Launched. Wired On April 23, 1962, The Ranger 4 was launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida. Three days later it landed on the surface of the Moon. Even though the Ranger landed, the program system failed so it was not able to take pictures of the Moon.

5 John Edwards Trail The trial for Presidential candidate John Edwards began in North Carolina on April 23, 2012. John Edwards was charged with using campaign funds illegally and concealing them. He was found not guilty on one count and the jury was in a deadlock on the rest of the charges, so the judge declared a mistrial. ABC News CBS News

6 William Shakespeare William Shakespeare was born on April 23, 1564. William Shakespeare also died on April 23, 1616. William Shakespeare is one of the most famous play writers in history. Plays he has written includes Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Macbeth, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Wikipedia

7 Shirley Temple Shirley (Jane) Temple Black was born on April 23, 1928. Shirley Temple was a “child star”. She was an actor, dancer and singer. In the 1930s Shirley Temple was at the rise of her career. But, by the time Shirley was in her 20s, her acting career went cold. Biography Disney

8 The Apollo On April 23, 1972, the Apollo 16 astronauts explored Moon’s surface. The Apollo was the 5 th space shuttle to take man to the Moon and return to Earth. The Apollo also landed on apart of the moon that had not been looked at by man yet. Air and Space Trojan Broadcasting

9 Coca-Cola On April 23, 1985, the Coca-Cola company announced that it was going to change the secret formula of Coke. However, the new flavor was not popular. They ended up changing back Coke back to the original formula. The “New Coke” as they called it, later became known as Coca-Cola II before changing it back to the original Coke. 10 Hank Aaron Hank Aaron hit his first major league homerun of his career on April 23, 1954. At this time, Hank Aaron was a member of the Milwaukee Braves.
