4. In 1962 the 1 st U.S. Satellite to Reach the Moon Launched. Wired On April 23, 1962, The Ranger 4 was launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida. Three days later it landed on the surface of the Moon. Even though the Ranger landed, the program system failed so it was not able to take pictures of the Moon.

5. John Edwards Trail The trial for Presidential candidate John Edwards began in North Carolina on April 23, 2012. John Edwards was charged with using campaign funds illegally and concealing them.
