The Government Vision The Governments Vision The government’s vision of a sustainable future for Phi Phi Island focuses on fewer, high spending tourists in all-inclusive resorts backed by big business from the outside. The government is planning to build a number of eco-friendly beach huts along the coastline. They would use solar power to generate energy and rely on the sea breeze to keep them cool rather than air-conditioning units. However, this would mean that the local residents would have to relocate further inland. The Government is hoping to provide jobs and training for the local people as well as providing all tourist with an Eco Code of Conduct upon their arrival.
