Interpersonal Communication Chris Houghton

Modulating Voice  This would be the change of tone in your voice, being quiet (Whispering) or being loud (shouting).  In other words this means the pitch moving in your voice, the alternative is to keep and even pitch throughout the sentence, which at best will sound odd and at worst dull, boring or confusing.  If you are speaking to an individual by yourself you would tent to speak more quietly.  However if you was speaking to a few people at once you would be loud and clear so they would understand what you are saying.

Articulating and expressing ideas clearly  This is where you would be speaking clearly in full sentences. You would think what you would say before you say it. This helps to eliminate the verbal pauses and may prevent you from saying something that does not make sense.  This would be used in school so the pupils could understand exactly what to do if there was a fire alarm or a other similar situation.

Select appropriate communication styles  This is representing you’re body language and your voice. You can do this by Identify your target audience and Analysing the message you want to communicate

Adapt terminology and vocabulary  This is the way you would talk to someone, like to a child you would tend to speak a lot softer and quieter.  But speaking to a group of adults you would be a lot more mature and clear.

Different between Facts and feelings  The difference between these two are very important to who you are telling. As a fact is something that you know that has happened for sure, with feelings this is just a thought and can’t be what actually happened.  For an Example: If there is a problem with your files not opening in Microsoft word you may have a feeling that it’s a problem with the hard drive, as it for a fact could be the program itself.

Ensuring Content is Appropriate  This is making sure that the content you are showing is professional, without showing spelling mistakes and incorrect punctuation.  This is important to show your professionalism and will act of how people will think of you in applying for a job.
