1 LONDON EYE

2 1) LONDON EYE The London Eye or Millennium Wheel is a landmark in London, United Kingdom. It’s a giant Ferris wheel, and it is situated on the banks of the river Thames.

3 London Eye People have a 360º full view of the panorama especially when they are on the top of the wheel.

4 London Eye The entire estructure is 135 metres tall and the wheel has a diameter of 120 metres. It was the biggest Ferris wheel in the world until 2006.

5 2) CONSTRUCTION It was built in 1999 to celebrate the start of the new millennium and people can visit it since It was designed by David Marks and Julia Barfield and funded by British Airways.

6 Construction The wheel was built in pieces that were transported along the River Thames on floating platforms. The rim of the Eye is supported by tied bars that make it seem like a big bicycle.

7 Construction It was inaugurated by the prime minister Tony Blair on 31st December 1999, the last day of the 2nd millennium.

8 3) AT PRESENT Nowadays, the wheel is one of the most popular landmarks in London and it’s famous in all the world.

9 At present It has been visited by more than 15,000,000 people since Now, around 10,000 people visit it every day.
