TLH1  There is Much Confusion Over The Subject of the Holy Spirit:  Some Say That He is Not GOD  Some Describe the Spirit as “the Impersonal, Active Force of God”  But the Bible Attributes to Him Personal Attributes:  Isa. 63:10; Eph. 4:30 – Holy Spirit Can Be “Vexed” and “Grieved”

TLH2  Attributes of a Person:  John 16:13 – “Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will show you things to come”

TLH3  The Holy Spirit is GOD (Acts 5:3-4)  Psalm 139:7 – “Where shall I go from your Spirit (Heb. Ruach), or where shall I flee from your presence (faces)?”  Just as the Father (Rev. 4:11) and the Son (Heb. 1:10) Were Involved in Creation, So Was the Holy Spirit:  “And the earth was without form, and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved (hovered) upon the face of the waters” (Genesis 1:2)

TLH4  Primary ROLE of Holy Spirit: REVELATION:  Genesis 6:3 – “And the Lord said, My Spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh, yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years”  Nehemiah 9:20 – “You gave also Your good Spirit to instruct them, and withheld not Your manna from their mouth, and gave them water for their thirst”

TLH5  Primary ROLE of Holy Spirit: REVELATION:  Matthew 10:19-20  John 14:26  John 15:26  John 16:7-13  2 Peter 1:20-21  1 Corinthians 2:9-16

TLH6  The Holy Spirit is a Person of GOD – Men Can Relate to the Holy Spirit the Same Way That They Relate to Other Persons of God  No Argument Over Whether or not the Spirit Indwells the Christian – He Does (Romans 8:9-16)  The Doctrinal Question is HOW?

TLH7 The Holy Spirit’s Modus Operandi - IMMEDIATE?  No Intermediary  No Medium  A bearing down on the object without any intervening medium The Spirit’s Mode and Medium of Indwelling: MEDIATE?  Not Direct  Through an intervening instrument or agent by which a thing is accomplished This Is The Question! These Are The Only Two Ways That The Holy Spirit Can Influence Men!

TLH8 Same “Indwelling” Language Used For All Persons of God:  Jesus Dwells in the Christian: “He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in Me, and I in him ” (John 6:56) “Abide in me, and I in you …” (John 15:4) “{22}And the glory that thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one; {23} I in them, and thou in me…” (John 17:22-23) “And if Christ be in you …” (Romans 8:10)
