2 Bias (n.)  Definition: Believing that some people, ideas, etc. are better than others & usually results in unfair treatment  Synonyms: Prejudice, one-sided, partial  Eg: Many parents have a bias & think their children are the cutest in the world.

3 Ethical (adj.)  Definition: Having to do with right & wrong behavior; following the accepted rules of behavior in society  Synonyms: Right, honorable  Eg: Finding a wallet full of money but no ID, but you turn it in anyway.

4 Just (adj.)  Definition: Fair & impartial; reasonable  Synonyms: Proper, deserved, warranted  Eg: They got just punishment for stealing candy from the teacher. They were required to scrub under all of the desks.

5 Moral (adj.)  Definition: Involving right & wrong behaviors; based on a person ’ s conscience; the standard of right behavior  Synonyms: Good, honorable, righteous  Eg: When my 19-year old sister asked me if I would buy her alcohol, I made the moral decision to say, “No.”

6 Proponent (n.)  Definition: Someone who advocates for someone or something.  Synonyms: Supporter, backer, ally  Eg: Campbell High School is supports various recycling programs.

7 Punishment (n.)  Definition: Penalty for doing something wrong.  Synonyms: Consequence, correction

8 Anecdotal Evidence (n.)  Definition: Evidence based on personal experience or personal accounts/reports of the incidents. Not necessarily reliable.  Eg: There's a lot of proof that drinking ionized water cures arthritis. Just last week I read about a woman who was suffering from arthritis. After drinking the water she was cured.

9 Empirical Evidence (n.)  Definition: Evidence based on experiences & direct observation through research  Eg: The existence of dinosaurs can be proven through empirical evidence because fossils & bones have been found.

10 Logical Evidence (n.)  Definition: Evidence based on facts & a clear rationale  Eg: Mrs. Chang must be married because I know she’s not adopted & she doesn’t look Chinese. Logic tells us she must have married a man whose last name is Chang.
