2 Reintegration Research and Recommen- dations for the Juvenile Justice System Have youth Representation on the Idaho Juvenile Justice Youth Committee Identify State and/Federal resources and how to use them creatively Each District will gather information regarding successful and unsuccessful reintegration efforts, including treatment successes and those that incorporate positive youth outcomes, to send to key stakeholders (from statewide reintegration plan) Develop stronger Diversion programs Develop Unity Council at each Tribe with the assistance of the two existing councils Develop opportunities for in institution program activities. Such as programs in Culture, Life Skills and Education, Mental Health, and Substance Abuse. Identify Tribal resources and how to use them creatively Expand ITJJC meeting schedule and expand stakeholders participating in ITJJC meetings Developing Tribal Assets Resources between tribes/state and the federal government should be shared when available and appropriate

4 Strategic Area: Developing Tribal Assets Goal 1: Idaho Tribal Youth will have a voice at Tribal/local, state and national levels Objective A: Develop Unity Council at each Tribe with the assistance of the two existing councils Objective B: Have youth Representation on the Idaho Juvenile Justice Youth Committee Goal 2: Youth on the reservation will have the opportunity to be successful Recommendation 1: Develop opportunities for in institution program activities. Such as programs in Culture, Life Skills and Education, Mental Health, and Substance Abuse Recommendation 2: (created by the Research and Recommendations for the Juvenile Justice System group): Develop stronger Diversion programs

5 Strategic Area: Research and Recommendations for the Juvenile Justice System Goal: Juvenile probation programs are aware of, and using, all resources cooperatively Objective A: Expand ITJJC meeting schedule and expand stakeholders participating in ITJJC meetings Objective B: Identify State and/Federal resources and how to use them creatively Objective C: Identify Tribal resources and how to use them creatively Recommendation: Resources between tribes/state and the federal government should be shared when available and appropriate

6 Statewide Reintegration Goal (from the Statewide Reintegration Committee) Goal: Each District has a comprehensive understanding of statewide reintegration practices Objective A: Each District will gather information regarding successful and unsuccessful reintegration efforts, including treatment successes and those that incorporate positive youth outcomes, to send to key stakeholders
