Applying Your Confidence Unit 1: Study 4 March 25, 2012

God is worthy of our faith Hebrews 11:1-3,6 Some people claim that they only believe what they can see Instead, we gather all sorts of evidence to determine if we can trust a source, and act accordingly Examples? A person’s faith is only as good as the person or object in which it’s placed We can act confidently on what God has revealed to us because He has a perfect track record of keeping promises

Concept of Faith The concept of faith must include these principles: Faith required action. Faith is always based on something. Faith in God leads us to obey him.

Faith impacts our personal lives Hebrews 11:4, 5, 7, 8, 29, 30 Examples of extraordinary events accomplish through faith Not talent, money, popularity, or supernatural ability If they can do it, so can you Noah spent a long time building the ark. He had faith the rain would come. Faith is personal but not private

Faith brings power into our lives Miracles? Hebrews 11:32-35 Miracles are supernatural events – the occur above or beyond what is natural More faith during trials or when life seems easy? Do not let circumstances dictate our levels of faith

That’s not what I expected Hebrews 11:36-40 What happens when you don’t get what you expected? God calls us to trust Him - not in a particular outcome What to do when something terrible occurs? Trust that He has your best interest in mind Recognize that He has a reason Know He will give you the strength to endure FELLOWSHIP!!!!

The Message What Having genuine faith in God means taking confident action for Him before tangible proof is available Why Faith that isn’t applied is useless; faith that is blind or reckless leads only to failure and hopelessness How Discover what God is calling you to do, then follow His will with faith and confidence
