Fit To Lead Aspects of Personal Health as a Leader

Responsible For Me! What I bring to the life of the church personally can be much more significant to effective ministry than the methods of ministry we embrace.

The health of any group begins with the health of the people who comprise that group. A healthy God-centered view of self significantly impacts the health of the entire group.

The Leader Growing In... God-awareness - Developing an intimate relationship with God in the power of the Holy Spirit; growing into the fullness of Christ

The Leader Growing In... Self-awareness – growing in understanding how life and life’s experiences have impacted one’s being and learning to submit completely to the sovereignty of God.

The Leader Growing In... World-awareness - Developing an ever expanding understanding of the nature of the world we have been called to serve so that we might as effectively as possible share the love of Christ with those who do not know the Savior.

The Growing Leader Character-A healthy leader grows in Christ-likeness in both personal and professional life; developing the attitude of Christ, growing into the fullness of Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Growing Leader Competence-A healthy leader grows in expertise in a holistic way; gaining knowledge and the ability to meaningfully apply that knowledge to the various aspects and experiences of life.

The Growing Leader Community-A healthy leader grows in understanding the dynamics and values of a healthy Christ-centered community, recognizes individual and corporate responsibility to Christ as head of the church, and works to cooperate fully with God and God’s chosen servants in the fulfillment of the mission of Christ in the world.

The only supernatural life is the life the Lord Jesus lived, and He was at home with God anywhere. Is there anywhere where you are not at home with God? Let God press through in that particular circumstance until you gain Him, and life becomes the simple life of a child. -Oswald Chambers

Values and character have far more to do with success in Christian leadership than programs and processes.

Growth is the only evidence of life. -Unknown He who is not busy being born is busy dying. -Dylan

Whenever right is made the guidance in life, it will blunt spiritual insight. The great enemy of the life of faith in God is not sin, but the good which is not good enough. The good is always the enemy of the best. It would seem the wisest thing in the world for Abraham to choose, it was his right, and the people around him would consider him a fool for not choosing (see Genesis 13). Many of us do not go on spiritually because we prefer to choose what is right instead of relying on God to choose for us. We have to learn to walk according to the standard which has its eye on God. -Oswald Chambers

I went to the woods because I wanted to live deliberately; I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life. To put to rest all that was not life. And not when I had come to die discover that I had not lived. -Henry David Thoreau
