Economic prosperity (if a person has a lot of money) also influences what kind of vacations and how frequently they might go on vacation When the economy is good, people travel more for business and leisure DISCRETIONARY INCOME: is the money that people have left over after paying taxes and basis living expenses (food, clothing and shelter)

Methods of transportation have changed, aircrafts are faster and more cost efficient

7 Political Factors Due to political and civil unrest in nations, tourists do not want to get caught up in the fight, live in fear or put themselves in danger Terrorist acts against tourists in Egypt and Kenya have deterred tourists from visiting at times. Case of Cuba: The US EMBARGO
