3. What is safeguarding?
The Government has defined the term ‘safeguarding children’ as:
‘The process of protecting children from abuse or neglect, preventing impairment of their health and development, and ensuring they are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care that enables children to have optimum life chances and enter adulthood successfully.’

Emphasis on promoting health and well being in general terms as well as protection from abuse.

Every Child Matters is the government agenda which focuses on bringing together services to support children and families. It sets out five major outcomes for children:

Achieve economic well-being

When you’re online, always keep your personal stuff private and think about what you say and do.

Block people who send you nasty messages and don’t open unknown links and attachments.
