1. Preparing a Cutting List

2. A cutting list is an accurate and very detailed list of the different parts that will make up your project/product. Your cutting list should contain the all of these following aspects;

3. 1. The materials that each part is to be made from. (I.e. pine, MDF, aluminium, Steel, Acrylic)

4. 2. The amount of each part you will require. For example, how many side panels will you need if you are making a bedside cabinet, or how many pieces of aluminium bar will you need to make your pillar clock?!

5. 3.The sizes of each part of your project…including; The Length The Breadth Thickness of material (I.e. MDF – 6mm, 9mm, 12mm Diameter of material (if working with bars/dowel)

6. Ultimately, you should be able to hand ANYONE your cutting list, and they should be able to understand how your project will come together!
