4  Not being able to focus light while working in dark environments is a problem faced in day to day life.  As a result of this, people install several number of lights in the same room which is financially unbeneficial and also contain negative energy effects.  Inability to control the light and direct it to specific areas remotely causes inefficiency and inconvenience.

5 Aim: Design user sensitive lamp that could detect the occupancy of the room and focus the light to its user. Voice commands and a computer user interface will be integrated to increase the convenience.

6 Objectives:  Reduce the cost for multiple lights in a single room.  Reduce the energy wastage  Provide more convenience for people.  Gain technical knowledge of electronics and software development

8 We used a collection of PIR sensors with a small range of sensitivity. User is detected from the heat signal originated from the body. we have devided Horizontal plane to 8 angles and set a PIR sensor per each. This detected position will be sent to the processing system of the lamp and the internal motor system will rotate the lamp in the user’s direction.

13 Used in the lower joint of the lamp to allow the movements over the vertical axis Metal gear servo motor will be used to provide the necessary torque and to facilitate smooth movements has a rotating angle of 180 degrees.

14 Used in the base of the lamp to facilitate the complete 360 degree rotation of the lamp Allows the lamp to cover the whole area of a room. Unipolar stepper motor is used

15 Used to detect the location of the user Has a sensitivity range of approximately 100 degrees. An electric pulse of 2.7V is generated for sensing motion
