3. About Me:  I am from Wytheville, VA  I am a proud 8 th grade English teacher at Scott Memorial Middle School  Undergraduate Degree: Interdisciplinary Studies: Radford University- May 2014  Graduate Degree: Educational Leadership: Radford University- May 2017

4. Objective:  Obtain the position as principal in the Wythe County Public School System

5. How do I fit in with WCPS?  I have held a job in Wythe County for the past two years at Scott Memorial Middle School  I aim to empower students to prepare for future endeavors  I understand the importance and pride within our small, rural community  I believe in continuous improvement for all students

6. In order to promote the success of all students I will:  Motivate  Influence  Provide a safe environment for learning  Implement data-based instruction  Require students to do their absolute best  Be fair  Be patient (ISLLC Standard 1)

7. In order to promote success of all I will:  Provide purposeful P.D. options for teachers  Encourage “teacher teams”  Give positive and helpful feedback  Listen to concerns  Improve and maintain a comfortable teaching environment  Set achievable goals (ISLLC Standard 2)

In order to effectively manage a school I will:  Implement discipline in a purposeful, fair, effective manner  Organize optimal time for student learning, safety, curriculum, and instruction  Communicate to staff and students effectively  Establish realistic rules each student and staff member must uphold with great dignity and pride (ISCLL Standard 3)

In order to effectively collaborate with the community I will:  Positively respond to diverse community interests and needs  Involve the community members and encourage their support of the school  See families as partners in the ongoing effort to educate their children  Direct effective instructional programs and school services for specific emerging trends (ISCLL Standard 4)
