8 Results for 2013 3-8 ELA and Math  Scores will be released during the summer (late July)  Public information (statewide, district, and school aggregates) will be available at: http://www.p12.nysed.gov/irs/press.html http://www.p12.nysed.gov/irs/press.html  School and district administrators will receive their results at approximately the same time as the public release

9 Expectations for 2013 Results  New standards and expectations will likely result in fewer students meeting standards  This does not mean a decline in student learning or educator effectiveness  Results will present a more accurate picture of where students are relative to college and career expectations  Accountability status and educator evaluations will not change based on lower levels of proficiency

10 Spring Field Testing  Grades 3-8 ELA and Math field tests are being administered June 3 – 7  Field testing is essential to ensure the validity and reliability of the assessments  NYSED’s goal is to require only the minimum amount of field testing needed to build high quality assessments  Cooperation by all schools minimizes the burden on each individual school

11 New Reference Math Tables  Reference tables for Math Tests in Grades 5-8 have been revised for 2014  Changes based on input from the field and information from PARCC  Reference tables will be sent for students’ use during field tests (June 3-7, 2013)
