3 What is science? Science is a body of knowledge based on the study of the natural world. The basis for science is what we call inquiry or the development of explanations.

4 Think, Pair, Share Take 30 seconds to think yourself about what a theory is and what a law is. Speak to your partner for 30 seconds and exchange ideas. Be prepared to share

5 Theory Vs. Law Theory- explanation of natural phenomenon supported by many observations and experiments over time. Ex. Cell Theory, Theory of Evolution Law- describes relationships under certain conditions in nature. Ex. Law of conservation of matter.

8 What is pseudoscience? Is it real science? Pseudoscience- area of study that try to imitate science, often driven by cultural or commercial goals. Ex. Astrology, horoscopes, psychic readings, tarot cards
