5 Asa, Fully Committed 1. He sought only the LORD

6 "Let us build up these towns," he said to Judah, "and put walls around them, with towers, gates and bars.” 2 Chronicles 14:7a

7 “The land is still ours, because we have sought the LORD our God; we sought him and he has given us rest on every side." So they built and prospered. 2 Chronicles 14:7b

8 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

9 They entered into a covenant to seek the LORD, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul. 2 Chronicles 15:12

10 Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Hebrews 11:6

18 Asa did what was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God. He removed the foreign altars and the high places, smashed the sacred stones and cut down the Asherah poles. 2 Chronicles 14:2-3

19 He commanded Judah to seek the LORD, the God of their fathers, and to obey his laws and commands. 2 Chronicles 14:4

20 He removed the high places and incense altars in every town in Judah, and the kingdom was at peace under him. 2 Chronicles 14:5

21 He built up the fortified cities of Judah, since the land was at peace. No one was at war with him during those years, for the LORD gave him rest. 2 Chronicles 14:6

23 Asa did what was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God. 2 Chronicles 14:2

24 Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the LORD? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams. 1 Samuel 15:22

25 He commanded Judah to seek the LORD, the God of their fathers, and to obey his laws and commands. 2 Chronicles 14:4

26 The people served the LORD throughout the lifetime of Joshua and of the elders who outlived him and who had seen all the great things the LORD had done for Israel. Judges 2:7

27 After that whole generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation grew up, who knew neither the LORD nor what he had done for Israel. Judges 2:10

28 Then the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the LORD and served the Baals. Judges 2:11
