1 Hungering for Christ in The Wilderness “Oh God You Are my God … In a Dry and Weary Land” Psalm 63 O God, You Are my God; …my soul thirsts for You; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. - Psalm 63:1

3 Hungering for Christ in The Wilderness “Oh God You Are my God … In a Dry and Weary Land” Psalm 63 Ephesians 3: I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Moses: After being “Prince of Egypt” - 40 years back side of the desert to learn humility, servant leadership and confidence in God’s abilities. Apostle Paul: 3 years in Arabia, stripped of “religious” pedigree, legalistic training, taught truth of the Gospel directly from Jesus! Jesus: At start of ministry, was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the Devil.

In the path where I walk people have hidden a snare for me. 4 Look and see, there is no one at my right hand; no one is concerned for me. I have no refuge; no one cares for my life.

I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed. 2 I cry out to God Most High, to God, who vindicates me. 3 He sends from heaven and saves me, rebuking those who hotly pursue me— God sends forth his love and his faithfulness.

They dug a pit in my path— but they have fallen into it themselves.

15 Hungering for Christ in The Wilderness “Oh God You Are my God … In a Dry and Weary Land” Psalm 63 4 I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. 5 I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you. 6 On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night. 7 Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings. 8 I cling to you; your right hand upholds me.

16 Hungering for Christ in The Wilderness “Oh God You Are my God … In a Dry and Weary Land” Psalm 63 Psalm 23 1 L ORD You are my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 You make me lie down in green pastures, You lead me beside quiet waters, 3 You refresh my soul. You guide me along the right paths for Your name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

17 Hungering for Christ in The Wilderness “Oh God You Are my God … In a Dry and Weary Land” Psalm 63 Psalm 23 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely Your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the L ORD forever. Amen.
