The customer is told how long it will take to fix his/her car while contact information is given. 4) Before any work is done on the car or any parts are shipped in from the headquarters in Lagos, the customer must pay at least 40% of the bill. 5) After payments are made, the parts are shipped in and the car is fixed by its technical mechanics in the workshop. 6) At this point the software DAS is run once again to make sure all defaults has been fixed. If the car is cleared, the customer is called, final payments are made and the car is good to go otherwise it is taken back to the workshop and more work is done on the car. It was mainly used for officially reasons because of its beautiful structure. Through the years the company has been able to increase in size as well as improve their techniques to fix cars. DAS (Diagnosis software) is an engineering software basically built for the Mercedes. It is used to run tests on the different models in order to figure out their faults. It can readily identify what model of Mercedes is being analyzed. With the faults being detected by the software, the company knows what needs to be changed and also what is causing certain problems. References Results Based on my internship I was able to able to comprehend the effect of the shock absorber. I was privileged to see one being changed so I could understand a little bit on suspension of cars. I also learnt that shock absorbers do not control chassis balance rather they limit the speed and motion of the chassis and suspension. These shocks also provide resistance to the car. In modern car s with premium shocks, nitrogen gas is used in place of air. This gas prevents bubbles from forming in the hydraulic fluid. These bubbles reduce the ability of the car to provide resistance. Achievement Through this internship, I was able to get an inside on how cars operate, function and are maintained. I also got the chance to change a few brake pads as well as replace air filters. I also did a little research on shocks and had to figure out whether nitrogen gas or air was a better choice in premium shocks.
