3 Location El Enemigo is produced at Piedemonte al Sur, located in southern foothills of Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza. The facility is named for the unique aspect of Mendoza’s high- altitude winemaking region nestled in the foothills of the Andes Mountains.

4 History Renowned winemaker of Catena Zapata, Alejandro Vigil, and businesswoman, Adrianna Catena, went into partnership and brought to life their own entrepreneurship, Aleanna winery. They wanted to reach back in time to capture the era when European immigrants first settled in Argentina. – These settlers sought to make wines as fine, and finer, than those of their old homeland. By 1936, Malbec and Petit Verdot were the most widely planted fine varietals in Argentina. El Enemigo means the enemy. At the end of any journey, most remember only one battle – the one they fought against themselves. This is the original enemy – the one that defines the person. This wine is a tribute to those internal battles that make us who we are.

5 The Winery The winery has a storage capacity of 150 thousand bottles and a bottling line that achieves an output of 2,500 bottles per hour. Aleanna is a small winery as regards its production but it makes top quality wines. In order to give life to its products, the winery farms its own 30 acre vineyards and 10 acres owned by independent growers, all of them located in Gualtallary, Tupungato. The varieties planted are Malbec and Petit Verdot. “Gualtallary’s main features are its high altitude and the wide temperature ranges that differentiate this region from others in Mendoza,” said Alejandro Vigil. Regarding their wines, the winemaker explained that “in Gualtallary, uncommon textures and natural acidity can be achieved, boosting a distinctive freshness with aromatic character that is almost wild. They are wines of great personality.”
