2 2 Goddard Space Flight Center Our Center is located in Greenbelt MD, a suburb outside of Washington, DC. The current campus encompasses approximately two square miles. Currently, about 8,200 civil servants & contractors. Including employees working off-site at Wallops Flight Facility, GISS, IV&V and the White Sands Complex, the employment number climbs to about 9,700.

3 3 The Goddard Mission The mission of the Goddard Space Flight Center is to expand knowledge of the Earth and its environment, the solar system and the universe through observations from space. To assure that our nation maintains leadership in this endeavor, we are committed to excellence in scientific investigation, in the development and operation of space systems and in the advancement of essential technologies. Goddard currently manages a total of nearly 80 flight projects, from formulation through operations

5 5 Industry Assistance Office Mission and Procurement Mission Provide a liaison between Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), NASA Headquarters, and Industry. Plan, organize and administer GSFC’s small and small disadvantaged business program. Procurement The GSFC Industry Assistance Office (IAO) works closely with the GSFC procurement offices and the technical community to identify significant procurement opportunities for small business participation. IAO reviews all acquisitions and is the first step in the procurement process. At GSFC, the Small Business Specialist and senior management ensure all aspects of small business issues are reviewed and addressed to the benefit of all parties.
