17 Tsunamis Nations in East Asia and Southeast Asia experience the effects of tsunamis Tsunami: a giant ocean wave, caused by an underwater earthquake or volcanic eruption, with great destructive power. Tsunami waves can travel at hundreds of miles an hour and rise up to 100 feet or more in height!
