2 Fundamental Science Practices “Since the bureau’s inception in 1879, the USGS has maintained comprehensive internal and external procedures for ensuring the quality, utility, and integrity of data, analyses, and scientific conclusions to protect the reputation of USGS science for excellence and objectivity.” 2

3 FSP Advisory Committee Offers recommendations and advice to help ensure that the Bureau continues to produce high quality, objective science information products:  Part of our charge is to develop recommendations for resolving FSP issues, including recommending policy changes to the ELT as appropriate 3
