12 Open-ended Questions: Significant Findings 48 occurrences of positive feedback regarding the faculty, advisors, curriculum, staff and administration, and general satisfaction with SILS 12 occurrences of feedback expressing a desire for LS and IS master’s degrees to be combined / for the option to earn an MSLIS degree

13 Open-ended Questions: Significant Findings 15 occurrences of feedback expressing a desire for more practical coursework 7 occurrences of feedback expressing a desire for more extensive career services from SILS and/or desire for more professional mentoring 16 occurrences of feedback expressing students’ belief that their advisors are/were unresponsive or indifferent

14 Open-ended Questions: Significant Findings 6 occurrences of feedback in which students indicated their advisor left the program and they were never informed

15 Implications Students are generally satisfied with SILS, but there is room for improvement in several areas An extensive analysis of students’ opinions about the depth and breadth of the curriculum should be undertaken Many students desire more practical coursework

16 Implications 14% of respondents indicated they are somewhat dissatisfied, dissatisfied, or very dissatisfied with their overall experience in this program. Extensive analysis of student satisfaction with advisors and the advising process should be undertaken There is an expressed desire to be able to earn an MSLIS.
