11 Study Tips 1.Write it Down. Putting it on paper can aid memory. 2.Pick a Quiet Place. Turn off/get away from all distractions. 3.Get the Right Tools. Make sure you have all the materials you need (i.e. laptop, books, pencils). 4.Break it Down. Do your work in small chunks so it doesn’t seem too overbearing.

12 5. Prioritize. Try and knock out your harder assignments first. 6. Ask Questions. You want to make sure you fully understand what’s expected of you. 7. Do One Thing at a Time. Don’t try and complete multiple assignments all at once. 8. Take a Break. Taking frequent breaks to walk around and/or get a snack helps keep you focused. Study Tips

13 Your Questions! Can you take gym all 4 years if you wanted to? If you pass all classes freshman year then what do you do for the next years? Are you ever able to leave school early if you get all your work done? Are you able to take, for ex., most of your math classes freshman year and then sophomore year all English classes and junior year all science? Are there clubs? What if you end up failing the same class all throughout 4 years? Do you ever get out? Can you graduate with honors? If you don’t pass something and have to retake it, do you flunk after taking it too many times? Will all of the 9 th graders have every class with me?

14 Your Questions! What’s the hardest course? If I’m unable to take a test for some reason, do I fail it? Why do they mix the kids in classes? How many AP/Honors classes do you have to take to graduate with Honors? Can you take multiple courses from the same field? For ex., Earth Science and Chemisty, or World History and US History? Is high school fun? If I didn’t pass my ECA the first time, can I retake it without having to repeat that class again? Do you get to take a test more than once? Are the teachers harsh on the kids? How many Elluminates will there be? How do we get extra high school credits?
