3. Sahara Case Study You will spend five lessons researching and producing a case study of the Sahara desert. You can work individually or in pairs. You could produce a mini-movie, a poster, a powerpoint presentation or a report. On the sixth lesson you will share your work with your class.

4. Sahara Case Study – Key Questions Where is the Sahara? Why has it formed here? What is the climate of the Sahara like? Why is it like this? What is a typical food web in the Sahara? How have specific plants and animals adapted to cope with the Saharan environment? What landforms can be found there? How did they form? How do indigenous people use the Sahara? What positive and negative impacts do they have? How do other people, such as tourists and multinational companies, use the Sahara? How could they use it in more sustainable ways? What challenges does the Sahara pose for different people? How can these challenges be dealt with? How is desertification affecting the Sahara? How can this be tackled?
