8 PFS Overview Funded through Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration (SAMHSA) Iowa was funded in the 4 th round with 21 grantees Focus on underage drinking/prescription drug abuse Focus on high capacity sub-recipients

9 PFS Overview SAMHSA focus on the following: 70% response rate – Iowa Youth Survey Connection between PFS and Garrett Lee Smith Suicide Prevention Grant Native American/military populations National Standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services in Health and Health Care (CLAS)

10 IPFS Overview IDPH received funding September 29, 2014 Five years - $1,626,000 per year 15% for state activities, 85% of sub- recipients, funding for SEW IPFS Priorities Reduce underage drinking (ages 12-20) Reduce youth binge drinking (ages 12-20)

11 IPFS Overview Funding distributed by identifying “highest need” counties through process established by the State Epidemiological Workgroup (SEW) Request for Proposal process to fund highest need counties with high SPF capacity

18 Training National Prevention Network Prevention Research Conference Happens next Fiscal Year – November 17-19, 2015 in Seattle IDPH will provide guidance on how funds can be spent after all contracts are finalized

20 What’s Next? State Level IPFS Workstation Website Deliverables on each SPF step will be available after training occurs Additional webinars on project expectations after project team attends New Grantee Meeting Schedule Supervisor Update Calls

21 What’s Next? County Level Review RFP – not the same as SPF SIG! Establish Collaboration Council Strengthen sector representation on coalition (required sectors) Identify an Evaluator Schedule and facilitate a Orientation Meeting with the Council/coalition
