Biography of my Artists In my sculpture presentation I am presenting the artists named Laurel and Fred Koschetzki. Laurel and Fred Koschetzki have worked with ceramic pottery, sculpture s of clay, painting and art-jewelry for 35 years.

They both have done the pots and sculptures with there own hands; with natural earth materials and the pots fired to high temperatures in there kilns. Laurel and Fred Koschetzki not only attended the same Universities, but also have shared the same studios for over 36 years. Fred the painter and at times Laurel the artists Muse. Following I will make some presentations of some of the pots that Laurel and Fred Koschetzki did. Finally I will tell how the artists works influence me to doing my pot.

I have chosen five of the pots I liked most from Laurel and Fred Koschetski gallery. Salt Glazed Stoneware Vessel Known as “Potters Wheel “thrown in lidded form, a serving casserole or a sculptural form.

Salt Glazed Stoneware Vessel It is known as “ The Relic Urn”. A Salt glazed sculptural pottery form, created in 1972 in they're salt kiln designed and built by them in Makanda, Illinois. Salt glazing is the result of salt being introduced into a kiln at very hot temperatures, resulting in sodium vapors combining with the silica in the clay. A sodium silicate glass forms on the clay surface. This form of glazing is temperamental, beautiful and unique, glazing every surface within the kiln, thus a "Salt Kiln".

Porcelain Dragon Art It is called “Dragon Urn” Porcelain Pottery Known as “Painted Tea”

Porcelain Pottery Known as “Dragon Tea”

The artists, Fred and Laurel, influence each other because they both loved to make art pottery and the competitively personality of both make them to be more interested in all this arts. The artists major concerns in their works are that the pots or sculptures have a very good symmetry in the exterior part, also to make the designs the most original possible, the thickness of the pot and the materials they were going to use. Their importance of working with art is very simple they loved to make very beautiful pots and they are very good doing it. Their works,in my opinion, they‘ are very nice works with a lot of personality each one of them.
