2. Where is Antarctica? It is a continent on the bottom of the Earth.

3. Antarctica’s temperature It is very cold. Only moss, not grass, grows there. It has no trees.

4. glaciers Glaciers are a river of slow moving ice. When the glacier breaks, it makes icebergs.

5. Antarctic animals Penguins, killer whales, seals, and fish live there. Some fish have antifreeze in their blood because it is so cold. Antifreeze keeps their blood from freezing solid like an ice cube.

6. Antarctic People Scientists visit Antarctica for a year or two to study animals and the cold. No one lives there all the time. There’s no schools or kids.

7. Beauty People think Antarctica is beautiful. It has mountains. It is clean, dry, and windy.

8. Weather Antarctica gets lots of snow but no rain. The snow turns to ice. Sometimes the ice cracks.
