TLC is for students, ages 11-15. The course has three levels to build student skills over three years. TLC learning is active, creative, exploratory, and collaborative.

Intel and Intel  Education are trademarks or registered trademarks of Intel Corporation or its subsidiaries in the United States and other countries. *Other names and brands may be claimed as the property of others. 3 TLC Background - 2003: Curriculum developed by Chicago Public Schools to ensure that all students become technology literate by the end of eighth grade - Curriculum included: -Technology Literacy Assessment: A validated summative assessment of technology literacy for sixth through eighth grade -Technology Literacy Projects: A companion series of project-based curriculum enhancements on a CD-ROM for seventh and eighth grade students - All CPS assessments and curriculum enhancements were based on NETS-T and validated by an expert panel of ISTE leaders - December 2005: Intel® Education partnered with CPS to collaborate on Web-based: -Technology Literacy Course- curriculum for sixth through eighth grade -Teacher Guide: Resource to help facilitate technology literacy projects -Parent Guide: Resource for parents to help them encourage use of technology for learning - September 2007: Available online to a global audience on Intel® Education

Each project is completed per semester with scheduling options, for example: -Two 40-minute class periods per week for 18 weeks -Four lab periods per week for 9 weeks -Teacher Guide: Support teacher implementation -Parent Guide: Support home and school connection
