A SOLUTION BRAINSAVVY BrainSavvy offers students positive opportunities to excel and learn collaboratively in a year long game. BrainSavvy is as much a philosophy as a teaching technique. That philosophy is “If learning is fun, students will be motivated and more learning will occur.”

A SOLUTION BRAINSAVVY BrainSavvy focuses on positive reinforcement through teamwork using the challenge a game and displaying the winning team flag. BrainSavvy works with any curriculum and with any age student.

HOW BRAINSAVVY WORKS Teams are chosen by drawing a sorting chip which randomly places each student on a team and assigns them a number. Teacher keeps a team roster (available to print out from our website). Teacher draws a chip to choose which student gets to answer the question. If they miss (or pass) the teacher simply draws another chip to let someone else try.

HOW BRAINSAVVY HELPS Behavior is improved. Teachers say students are more focused, quiet and attentive while playing BrainSavvy. Students say they enjoy school more when they get to play BrainSavvy in class.

HOW BRAINSAVVY HELPS BrainSavvy provides an opportunity for healthy competition between teams and provides immediate positive reinforcement. Due to random team assignment, BrainSavvy provides forced collaboration which is a good thing because school is a safe environment. They are only playing a game…in class at that….we think teams will cooperate and this could reduce bullying.

HOW BRAINSAVVY HELPS With BrainSavvy, teaching is more enjoyable and less stressful because students are motivated and involved. When students are playing BrainSavvy, teachers have the opportunity to observe and assess their learning.

Counselors In the Classroom BrainSavvy Game is being used by School Counselors as a tool use in the classroom. Class is divided into two teams who compete to brainstorm positive options. BrainSavvy can also be used as a warm-up to start discussions.

Individual Therapists & Child Psychologists BrainSavvy works one on one between a child and a therapist as an easy warm-up. Listen and pay attention to the answers the child gives. They are rushing to think against a clock and their guards are probably down. You have to take your turn, too. But you get to ask the question, so pick something relevant such as: Why is it important to go to class? When you take your turn in the game, you can say a lot of good ideas that he may hear and remember. When he takes his turn you will see what is important to him.

BRAINSAVVY IS ECONOMICAL Playing BrainSavvy does not require pencil & paper so it conserves other precious consumable resources.
