1 Promotion of Diversity in Culture and Arts within European Cultural Heritage Romania Aurora Trănescu, Ministry of Culture Overview of the programmes in PA17, EEA Grants 2009-2014

2 Support for mobility of artists /cultural professionals and their works to reach new audiences beyond their home countries; Organization of local, national or international cultural and art events; Exchange of experience and good practices among cultural organizations; Education and training for professionals and cultural organisations in order to, inter alia, gain new skills, strengthen their capacity in the cultural field, support community development; Develop education methodologies regarding cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue through new communication services, etc; Information and communication campaigns in order to raise awareness about cultural diversity, including cultures of minorities; Research, surveys, inventories on culture and arts and studies in order to raise awareness about cultural diversity, including on cultures of minorities, particularly among young people; Production of goods and services related to the culture of communities, including the culture and heritages of minorities, including Roma. 3 Innovation of the approach, methods and techniques Contribution to the Programme’s outcomes: - Awareness of cultural diversity raised and intercultural dialogue strengthened; - Cultural history documented Contribution to supporting diversity and identity of the cultural communities, including Roma Partnership with organisations from the Donor States Impact: - Social, economic, cultural benefits created by the project for the local community - Visibility and/or audience reached Specific selection criteria (in the area of arts)

4 Two calls for proposals: - for large projects (50- 200,000 EUR, January-April 2014) - for small projects (5- 15,000 EUR, January-April 2014) Applications submitted on paper Independent evaluators were selected by the PO The selection committee validated the ranking list for each of the calls Selection procedure

5 Large projects: - Applications submitted - 215 - Project contracts signed - 45 Small projects: - Applications submitted - 115 - Project contracts signed - 37 Bilateral relations: 3 calls for measure A opened between Nov. 2013 – March 2014 56 appliations, 52 contracts one match-making seminar in Nov. 2013 call for measure B open at present Results
