Hey there! I’m Drip! I just fell to the ground with millions of my brothers and sisters. Now I will begin my journey to the Atlantic Ocean. You should come with me! We can start right here, in the Blue Ridge Mountains!

The Mountain Region is in the northern part of Georgia.

My job in this region is to provide water to all types of different plants and animals. Some of the animals include the Black Bear, the Red Fox, and the Great Horned Owl. the Whitetail Deer,

Our next stop is the Piedmont Region. You live here, in Fulton County. This is also where you will find Atlanta, our state capital.

Animals in this region include the Honeybee, the Copperhead Snake, and our state bird, the Brown Thrasher.

Both, the Piedmont and the Mountain Regions have similar plant life. These include the Georgia Pine, the Dogwood Tree, the Maple Tree, and the Sensitive Fern.

Now we will travel to the southern part of the state to the Coastal Plain Region.

Georgia’s coast has sandy soil and many different plants and animals! Plants include the Live Oak and Spanish Moss. Animals include the Fiddler Crab and the Blue Heron.

Within the Coastal Plain Region is the Swamp and Marsh Region. The most famous swamp in Georgia is the Okefenokee Swamp.

The swamp has many interesting plants and animals that are not found in other habitats… like Alligators,River Otters,Damselflies,Cypress Trees, and Water Lilies.

Our last stop is in the Atlantic Ocean.

I made it! The Atlantic Ocean is filled with amazing creatures that can be found nowhere else in Georgia! These include the Loggerhead Sea Turtle, the Horseshoe Crab, and our state marine mammal, the beautiful Right Whale.

Wow, I’ve traveled from the Mountain Region to the Piedmont Region to the Coastal Plain and the Swamp, and ended my journey in the Atlantic Ocean.

I hope you have enjoyed your trip, and I’ll be seeing you around!
