Does anyone know this man’s name?

On 25 November Sikhs will celebrate Guru Nanak’s birthday. Guru Nanak is the founder of Sikhism. Sikhism is still based on his teachings (and the nine Gurus who followed him). He was born in 1469 in what is now Pakistan. After a spiritual experience, he began to preach the Sikh faith and spent the rest of his life teaching, writing and travelling around the world to discuss religion with Muslims and Hindus. Sikhism is the fifth largest religion in the world and the youngest of the six major world religions.

Can you identify three things Sikhs do during the festival of Guru Nanak’s birthday? Clues: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfRd UCfNS8o https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfRd UCfNS8o

What can we learn from him? Some of Guru Nanak’s key teachings are: ◦Above all, Guru Nanak taught that everyone is equal. ◦Just imagine… Focus on God Earn an honest living Share with others

What do you think? Do you agree with him or not? Why? If time… Guru Nanak was brought up a Hindu. He radically refused to wear the sacred thread of Hindus (they wear this across their shoulder to show they are Hindu). Guru Nanak said it is more important to put faith into action than to wear a religious item of symbolism.
