Psalm 19:1-3 1 The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. 2 Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. 3 There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard.

Science & Faith Are Incompatible Popular view of science – objective, rational, concerned with evidence, based upon reason. Popular view of faith – subjective, irrational, unconcerned with evidence, exercised in the absence of reason.

Hebrews 11:1-3 1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. 2 For by it the people of old received their commendation. 3 By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.

What is Science? Science is the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment.

“If we take in our hand any volume of divinity or school metaphysics (works on religion and philosophy) let us ask this question, does it contain any abstract reasoning concerning quantity or number? No. Does it contain any experimental reasoning concerning matter of fact or existence? No. Commit it then to the flames, for it can be nothing but sophistry and illusion.” - David Hume

Overreach of Science 1.Science is the study of the physical universe. 2.Science produces no evidence for the existence of non-physical entities. 3.Therefore non-physical entities such as God do not exist.

Everyone has faith. Hoyle & Crick – Directed Panspermia Richard Dawkins – “I think the probability of a supernatural creator existing is very very low. 6.9 out of 7.” Lawrence Krauss, a theoretical physicist at Arizona State University, “500 years of science have demonstrated that God, that vague notion, is not likely.” -

Romans 1:19-20 19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

Romans 1:21 21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.

Romans 1:22-23 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.

“I cannot get past two things: The starry skies about and the moral law within” - Emanuel Kant Psalm 19:1-6 The starry skies about Psalm 19:7-11 The moral law within Psalm 19:12-14 Am I accepted

John 20:30-31 30 Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
