1 Anonymised Questionaire The following graphs show the quantitative responses to each of the anonymous questions given to Teaching Assistants using the following scale: 1=Strongly Agree 2= Somewhat Agree 3= Not Sure 4= Somewhat Disagree 5= Strongly Disagree The side of each graph shows the number of responses for each of the options

10 Qualitative Feedback: The positives 1.Pushing students to achieve even in challenging subjects 2.Building trust and good relationships with students is extremely important to the majority of TA’s 3.Staff like the idea of sharing research and carrying out independent study into different needs. The majority of requests are for behaviour, autism, social skills and ADHD 4.Many TA’s are interested in the use of IPads and other technology 5.A general feeling of support throughout the school

11 Qualitative Feedback: Things to Develop 1.Improve the communication between TA’s and Teachers prior to lessons- Even just a quick discussion or even better, discussing the year ahead by going through topics that will be covered and to what depth. 2.Provide Homework early in lessons 3.Let TA’s know if a student is struggling emotionally/socially- Better links between Tutors, PM’s, Mentors and TA’s needed. 4.Demoralised due to lack of career progression 5.More “in-house” training on barriers to learning 6.Some negativity 7.More regular TA meetings to discuss issues 8.Clear behaviour management guidelines specifically for TA’s 9.Be included on inset days
