1 Magnum Chiller Plant Manager
Revision - 4/26/2017

2 Overview Based upon Loop Control Software-same control functions.
Supports up to 8 individual loops. Control each loop independently. Communications via the RS485 port or hardwired to Magnum controllers. Provide Run/Stop and staging capacity. Provide alarm status of Magnum on the network.

3 Overview (Continued) Supports up to 8 individual loops.
Supports up to 12 pumps or fans per loop. Supports 16 cooling/ice making and heating stages per loop. Supports 1 VFD for pumps or fans per loop with unique control sensor. Supports 1 VFD for heating stages per loop. Supports 1 VFD for cooling stages per loop.

4 Overview (Continued) Supports control of loops on: peak load schedules, on or off all day or based on daily schedule. Supports 2 daily schedules per loop. Supports separate run/stop and run override per loop. Supports individual set points per loop. Supports individual state names (status) per loop.

5 Overview (Continued) Supports up to 80 Relay Outputs.
Supports up to 112 Sensors Inputs. Supports up 28 Analog Outputs. Supports 255 Set points. Supports storage of last 99 alarms. Supports 1008 History Samples for all inputs & outputs.

6 Chiller Plant Manager Options
Individual set points for each loop. Individual loops controlled on: Run/Stop indicator. Run/Stop indicator plus temperature. Low Ambient control: None Loop off Run only pumps Enable loop to run Loop override indicator.

7 Chiller Plant Manager Options (Continued)
Control of primary and backup pumps or fans with rotation. Schedule: Run loop on a day schedule Always on Always off On - Off schedule Do not run on peak demand hours. Separate Control Zones with ROC control logic for cooling and heating.

8 Pump Control Options Primary Common
Each pump is directly connected to a chiller. The first pump is associated with the first chiller. The chiller will not be enabled to run unless that pump is on. If the pump fails the chiller will be turned off. Common Pumps are not associated with a chiller. Once a pump or a set of pumps are on the first chiller will be allowed to run. If a pump fails then another pump if available will be turned on.

9 Load Options Sequential Loading
More Capacity- The first chiller will be loaded to its full capacity before the next one is enabled to run. It will then be loaded. Less Capacity- Lead chiller will be completely unloaded and run enable will be stopped. The next chiller will then be unloaded.

10 Load Options (Continued)
Balance Loading More Capacity- All chillers will be enabled to run and will be loaded equally. Less Capacity- All chillers will be unloaded equally.

11 Communications Plant Manager will communicate to Magnum on the network based upon loop information. Standard class 55 messages are used for communications. Each loop can contain a starting Magnum network address and the number of Magnums. Based upon the control information for that loop, the number of steps (recips) or capacity (screws) will be determined.

12 Communications (Continued)
Since Standard Class 55 messages are used for communications: All versions of chiller software are compatible and will accept instructions from the Plant Manager. If the Alarm RO is on, this will be communicated to the Plant Manager. No special software is required, only that the individual systems be configured to accept network input.

13 Alarms LOST Magnum #x ALARMonMagnum #x
This alarm indicates that Magnum at address x is not communicating. ALARMonMagnum #x This alarm indicates that Magnum at address x has encountered an alarm.
